Cannot Map Drive in VPN...

After connecting to our office network via VPN, I cannot map drives. I can access all services except for the fact that I cant map drives. I can even ping those particular servers whose drives I am trying to map. For example, we have a server called "XYZ" and it has a drive named "ABC". Now I can ping "XYZ" but I cannot map the path "\\XYZ\ABC". What can be the cause for this. Please help!!! Thanks.

If your work network uses WINS, try putting the WINS server IP address in
your network connection settings. If there's no WINS, see
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;180094 for help writing an
LMHOSTS file.

Note - the padding spaces for the domain name (0x1b) entry are very
important - be sure not to miscount!
