Cannot link to remote Database

Hi All,

My intended setup is.....Front End-on local computer, Back End-remote
location

Using the Linked Table Manager, at "Select New Location" under file name,
I typed (something to the effect of) "http://www.123.com/123/ABC.accdb"
The error message says "Not A Valid File Name"

You cannot link using the http protocol (nor using ftp, for that matter).

Then you CANNOT use Access.

This configuration is not supported and will not work.

If the backend is in SQL/Server and you have proper authorization, you can do
it... but linking to a remote JET backend (.mdb file) is just not something
Access can do.
