Cannot Line Up PowerPoint Lines

P

I am using MS Office PowerPoint 2003 (11.8135.8132) SP2 on XP 5.1 SP2.

I draw different lines and try to line them up but, with either
dragging or using the arrow keys, they always overshoot the mark.
Click 1 left and it's too far to the left. Then click 1 right and
it's too far to the right. I cannot even extend a horizontal line to
make it stay horizontal. The dragging end either goes too far up or
too far down so I get a slope I don't want. It has nothing to do with
pixel resolution because I cannot drag the end of one line to where
the end of another line is.

I there some way to set it so that I get finer resolution where I drag
things?

Many thanks in advance,
Peter.

In the Draw menu (on the Draw toolbar), choose Grid and Guides. You can
change the grid size there, or you can deselect snap to grid.

Also, when drawing horizontal or vertical lines, try holding down the
shift key.

Finally, when lining things up, try Align or Distribute in the Draw menu.

That did it! Thanks very much!
