Cannot Install Vista SP1 because of previous SP1 Beta

When I try to install SP1 I get a message that says SP1 is already installed.
What is installed is the SP1 beta. How do I remove the beta to install the
RTM SP1?

Youy'll have to ask beta questions in whatever beta newsgroup you were given
by the place that gave you the download.

When you downloaded the beta, you were told how to report bugs and how
to access any newsgroups set up for the beta. You should post this in
the beta newsgroup.

Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features..

Now click on View installed updates (under the Tasks heading)

Look for the SP1 Beta install .. it will be under the Microsoft Windows
group and read as 'Service Pack for Microsoft Windows.

Uninstall it.

Before running the SP1 RC1 installation, disable your anti-virus program.
When the computer reboots after installing RC1, the av will automatically
re-instate itself..

Good Luck

To add a little...
You are aware the RTM is not available and is not expected until the
first part of next year?
What is available is RC-1, but that is still a Beta.
