Tried right clicking the installer and then "run as admin"?
What exactly are you trying to install? you can also use compatability
mode and install as XP - as above but select properties, the
compatability mode is in there.
I got round a lot of problems by putting a clean install of XP on
first then using upgrade to install Vista, (on a test box I hasten to
add). This cured a lot of odd problems and failed installs which were
probably down to the age of my test box MOBO amongst other things. You
could try that.
Other than that I don't know what else, maybe somebody else does?
