I have recently had to do a complete format and I have reinstalled outlook.
I saved the outlook settings and archive folder to disk but when I try to
import them back into outlook I get the message that they are not pst files
even though it says they are under properties?

Import>>>>from another prog or file>>>>pst file>>>>I locate from disk>>>do
not import duplicates>>>> not a personal folders file

Use File-> Open-> Outlook Data File... instead.

Thats because you need to copy from cd to hd, do NOT overwrite any existing
pst, ensure the file read only flag is off, then in OL open the pst
If it still fails to work then the copy on the cd is corrupted
