I have an Outlook express file (.dbx) that I cannot import to Microsoft
Mail. I try to use the import method but I keep getting the following error
message: "No messages can be found in this folder or another application is
running that has the required file open. Please select another folder or try
closing applications that may have files open." The file is in the folder
but the import wizard does not recognize it. HELP!

when you navigate to the folder where the .dbx files are.. don't open it.
If you open the folder, to see if the .dbx files are there, it causes a
duplicate in the path..
like C:\temp\temp

I don't know any way to import a single DBX file. Extract the contents as
EML files using one of these programs and drag the EML files into WinMail.
DBXtract ($7): http://www.oehelp.com/DBXtract/Default.aspx
There is also a free alternative to DBXtract, though not for DBXpress:

DBXpress: ($25) http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/Default.aspx
