Cannot Get Internet on Windows Vista Basic Acer Laptop New out of

I recently had a docotor's office that is one of my clients ask to put her
laptop computers on their network. They use Static I.P. Addresses for each
of the computers connected to their network. I modified the wireless N
router to work as a wireless switch. I have he other computers running XP on
the wireless network and my laptop running Vista Home Premium on the network
but the ones using Vista Basic will only show the local network and not the
internet. This is on the wireless card and on the LAN adapter. Is there a
fix to this problem other than ripping out the Vista OS and putting in XP Pro?

You may want to check if there is any new firmware for the router and new
driver for NIC. Or this link may help.

It is not an issue with the firmware or anything like that. Using the LAN
RJ45 I get the same thing. It is a setting somewhere. I disabled the
firewall. Ripped out the Norton Inet security and I still get only local
access. Does anyone out there have a fix for this problem.
I have a computer running vista home premium and it works fine using the
same ip address and settings.
I called Microsoft and their crazy tech support wants me to call acer and
acer wants almost 3 bucks a minute to solve the problem they created. I
can't believe customer service has gone down the toilet. I would starve to
death if I ran my business like these companies run theirs.
