Cannot generate certain reports on shared database

I have a specific problem with bcm 2. The database is hosted on a colleagues
PC. This database is shared and I access it from my laptop. Everything
works except reports.

All reports work on my colleagues PC that hosts the database but on my PC, I
can only generate some reports. Certain reports (all opportunities reports
for example) cannot be generated and I get error message "The report could
not be generated please try again".

Can anyone help with this. We have tried uninstalling and re-installing
both MSDE and BCM on both PCs with no success.
