Cannot finish .NET Framework 1.1 Distrib. installation

I have been having trouble finishing the installation of some dowloaded
programs. Specifically, I've been trying to finish the installation of the
NET Framework 1.1 and when I get to about the last screen of the install with
the message "Registering System: EnterpriseServices.dll," the program hangs
and will not finish the install. The window also won't close. Any ideas?

Download the .NET Framework 1.0 and 1.1 cleanup tool and run it:

Carey,

I tried the first step & ran the cleanup tool but still was not able to
finish the 1.1 installation. I have not tried the more detailed step yet.
