cannot find the specified file in company network drive

my company just installed Service Pack 2 on all our machines. now, when
i go to my own personal section of the network drive and try to delete
files, i get a "cannot find the specified file" message. the file DOES
get deleted, a split second before i get the error message (so, DUH, of
course it cannot find it). but i have to go through this with every file
i need to delete. i mark 20 files for deletion, hit the delete button,
it deletes the first file, i have to OK the error message, then i have
to hit the delete button AGAIN, and ok the error message, hit the
delete....etc etc for each file, even though the whole group in marked
to delete.

the problem is only in my section of the network, not on any of the
departmental shared drives, or on my hard drive.

i did a simple Google search but i'm not getting anywhere with that.
most of the problems have to do with playing Windows Media files, so i
didn't even look at the solution. so far, this seems to be just for
deleting files in Explorer, and only in my personal drive in the
network.

any ideas?

Just for fun, try selecting the 'Details' view for the folder you're
trying to delete files from. I vaguely remember having this same problem
on a network at one of my customers' sites - just can't remember if this
solved it. If you still have trouble, post a follow-up and I'll check my
records.

Good luck,
NRJ

i always view in Details format anyway. the only other format i use is
Thumbnails if i'm looking at a graphics folder
