cannot find server-more

Hello, Have WindowsXP Home SP2 all updates. 56kmodem connection. AVG AV,
Sygate Personal Firewall, SpywareBlaster, Spybot-S&D, WinPatrol and Ad-Aware
SE Personal. All with the latest updates.
Problem: Twice this week would go online without problem then disconnect and
reconnect a couple of hours later and receive the "cannot find server". Tried
using three different browsers and 1 email client, all the same. If I just
restart, the unit presents a black screen and harddrive light shows activity
but screen stays black.
If I just shut down the unit using "turn off computer" without trying to
reboot and then start up unit, all works including using any browser online.
Thank You for assistance.
Take Care.

Is this a webpage problem. It may be that the server you are requesting
information from is down. Therefore no one can get information from it.

Hello, Thank you for the reply.
No I don't believe it is a web page problem. The e-mail client is O.E.v6
through my I.S.P.
I think it may be some O.S. glitch.
All the settings in the different programs ie: I.E.V6, O.E.v6, Firefox, Off
by One, AVG AV and Sygate Firewall as far as I can tell have not changed.
No event errors listed.
Have not installed anything this week.
No heat problem, have temperature controls, set to shut down if heat problem
occurs.
If any other thoughts please post.
Take Care.
