cannot embed photo files

When I add a photo to a web page, I am supposed to be asked if I want to
embed the photo files when I save the page. This does not happen. Is there
some control that must be set?

Import the file into FP first, then place it into your design from within FP.

It depends on whether the page being edited belongs to a Web or not as well
as whether the image has been saved or not.

If it is not saved yet, the Save Embedded Items dialog box will appear
prompting you to save the image. Also, if the page being edited is inside a
Web and the image being linked is outside the Web, the Save Embedded Items
dialog will appear as well.

Rob and Xero,

Wow! Thanks for the very quick replies. I was busy today and didn't get a
chance to see your suggestions until just now. I tried both suggestions and
they worked.

I'm new to Front Page (actually to web authoring in general) so I'm really
feeling my way. I can't thank you enough.

I think I may become a pest on this site!
Sincerely, Vince

This is off-topic.

I want to encourage Vince. I am also a newbie and I have found a great deal
of help here.

Some of the experts are very helpful, patient and non-condescending. In fact
the more expert, the more they exhibit these traits.

So thanks to all, and Vince - go for it.

Trevor,

Thanks for the comment. I have found the same thiing on other sites - the
real experts are willing to share their knowledge freely and without
braggadocio.

G'Day Trevor (I mean, "Ciao.")
