Cannot download

Using IE 6. Unable to download anything from a whole range of different
sites.. Everytime the error message reads:

" Internet Explorer cannot download __________ from ____________
Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested
site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later."

Your advice would be appreciated.

Can IE download from ANY site? Does any other service work? More analysis here
would be extremely helpful.

Maybe looking at "ipconfig /all" would help here.
