Cannot download or use hotmail

I've downloaded and installed IE6. Currently using
windowsMe. Since "upgrading" I cannot access hotmail and
cannot download any files. Hotmail says done but nothing
appears. When downloading it just hangs with zero
progress.

Tried to go back to IE5x. But I can't. I get the
message "not possible since IE6 is installed. I've seen
other posts with similar issues and was wondering if
anyone hasa seen a fix that works. I can't even download
the latest IE6 service pack.

Please help. My PC has been rendered virtually useless
without email and downloads.

Go into the security section and set the security to the default level.
That fixed it up for me.

Thank you for the suggestion. Ubfortunately I've tried
that already and it didn't solve my problem. I still
can't access hotmail or download anything.

At this point I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone have
any suggestions for another browser? I'd rather not
reload windows and disrupting my entire for junk like
IE6...
