Cannot download MS Updates!

I am having difficulty downloading desired Microsoft
updates for my XP Home OS. It appears to download but
hangs/freezes on the "Install Progress" phase. I have
tried to download with and without security software
running (i.e. virus scan and firewall protection)

THANK YOU. Apparently the quirkiness that is AOL
continues to mount. Updating from My Computer's Windows
Update rather than "directly" from the Microsoft Web page
was the answer.

turn off the virus scaners and see if it works
