How many critical updates is it showing that you need? You could be infected
with blaster or one of the other funbags floating around on the internet.
Do you have anti-virus software? If so update it and run it, then trying
windowsupdate.
If you don't have anti-virus software, http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php they have a free version of their
virus scan software. Download it, update the dat file run it, then try
windows update.
(This is a legal version of windows I am assuming)
