Cannot download ....IE6 SP1

I have been getting this message for the last few days

Internet Explorer cannot download ____ (filename) from
the ____ (site)
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet
site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot
be found. Please try again later.

I run XP pro with PC-Cillin and IE 6 sp1[6.00.2800.1106 (xpsp1.020828-1920)

Tried most of the solutions on Microsoft and beneration.net (Leboeuf)

We have been having the exact same problem on a computer
at work. Every time we go to download a file it says the
same error.

This computer is Windows 98, IE 6 SP1, Mcafee Virus Scan.
I fixed it the first time by istalling IE6, then that
didnt work. I have just finished running Ad-Aware and
HijackThis on it, but no real leads...

Try to download files with some download manager program. I use for
these purposes IDM from Tonec Inc. It will also improve your download
speed.
