Cannot do a systems restore

Can you provide some details?? Just saying that something is broken and how
do I fix it isn't a lot to go on.
 
The System Restore points are being created but when I do a Restore on any
Restore Point it goes through the motions and a restart automatically but the
says the Restore could not be done and that the computer remains as is.

System restore can be a useful tool, unfortunately it is prone to
corruption. All of the SR restore points depend on each other and if one is
corrupted the only real fix is to turn SR off and then back on which also
deletes all of the existing restore points.
