Cannot Display Guides in PowerPoint 2003

I am working with a PowerPoint 2003 presentation. I want to display and use
the Guides. I select "Grid and Guides" from the "View" menu and select the
checkbox to enable Guides. Nothing happens. I cannot make the Guides
visible.

Can anyone give me a clue as to how to fix this? Everything else works but
I cannot make the guides visible. I've tried several things and none have
worked.

Note: If I start a new presentation, the guides work, but in this particular
presentation, no guides...

The guides are probably there, but in a place that you can not see. This
happened to me a long time ago, so it would not have been PP2003. I do not
remember which version it was, but this is how I fixed it.

Try to change the slide of the slide using File -> Page Setup and quadruple
the size of the slide dimensions.
(10 x 7.5 becomes 40 x 30). Then ok out of the dialog and re-try looking
for the guidelines. When you find them, return them to the center and
change the slide size back to its 'normal' size.

Post back either way, so we can continue to look for the solution or know
this is still relevant.

That Worked! Thanks... It is tricky when this happens because you can't
see the guides extend past the sides of the slide. They disapear into the
void.

I was not actually aware of the custom setup page feature. This was a good
fix.

Thanks!
