Hi folk

my problem is this:

When I click on IE6 since I have set autoconnection with my preferred
connection I go to internet but the connection status icon (two computers)
that would have to be near clock there isn't so I cannot disconnect to
internet. Obvious I have set in the connection properties that it must
show icon when connected.

If I go to Internet Explorer option I can see all my connection and view and
set properties of every connection.

But if I go to Start->Connection to-> and click on my connection (adsl or
dial up) nothing happened.
Moreover right click on every connection -> properties and appeare a error
windows with "unexpected error".

I have Windows XP sp2.

I have also try to reinstall sp2 without success.

Thank you for your patience

Hi,

Let me try - just wish to help.

(1) You don't see the two small computers? FYI, one is called Internet
Connection and the other one can be Local Area Connection and/or Wireless
Network Connection - depending what type of connection you are using.

If you can see only one, chance is the second one - either or both the Local
Area and Wireless Network. If you wish to see the Internet Connection, you
can point mouse to My Network Place, right click Properties and you should
see an icon called - Internet Connection under Internet Gateway (after you
have successfully made the connection). Right click Internet Connection and
select Properties, and check "Sow icon in notification area when connected".
Next time, when you are connected, you will see two computers.

(2) Disconnect Internet Connection - I am not so sure about how do you want
to disconnect and seems you have DSL connection and dial-up. And you wish
to use the small computer (Internet Connection Icon mentioned before) to
disconnect. If so, point you mouse to the small computer named "Internet
Connection" right click and select Disable.

Hope this helps.
