Cannot detect "C" drive

The icon on my C-drive is the one that appears when
theres no program that can read it. When I double click
on it, it says "Please go to the Control Panel to install
and configure system components". Then I go to control
panel and I have no idea where system component is. If
anyone has an idea of how to fix this, let me know!
thanks!

Perhaps your topic sentence makes perfect sense to you, but...

I *think* that what the OP means is that there is only the generic
Windows icon for the C Drive. Which means that the problems undoubtedly
run too deep to be dealt with on Usenet with so little information
provided. To the OP, I'd say: PhoneBook/YellowPages/Computer_Repair.

Right click on the C and take Explore. IN the Tools menu - Folder
Options, View ensure you have 'Show hidden and system files' then look
in the right pane for either desktop.ini or autorun.inf and delete them
if present
