Cannot delete

I use a temp folder to occasionally download articles to be read later or for
trial programs that I might be interested in, then delete them after reading
or installing. I now have a file CAXKCN1X. that has shown up in the folder
with no extension and 0 kb which, when I try to delete, gives me the
following : “Cannot delete file. Cannot read from the source file on disk.â€
I have attempted to delete it in Safe Mode to no avail. How do I get rid of
this annoyance?

This sounds silly, but if you just wait, it will probaby go away by
itself.

I have the same problem with a file I copied from another disk today. I
tried MOVEONBOOT and Safe Boot, no luck with either.

I had something similar recently, I used:-
Utility for Deleting Invalid Files
http://www.purgeie.com/delinv.htm
For invalid/UNC file/folder name deleting, rather than the in use problem

Always use extreme care when using such utilities. Use at your own risk.

TaurArian,

That program worked like a charm! I had the same problem as the OP,
downloaded this and erased that pesky file in the blink of an eye.

Thanks a bunch!
