Cannot delete selected files

Using Windows XP pro and the search program I locate all
the *.bak files on my disk, select them using the CTRL+A
then right click and try to delelte. I get the following
message:

Cannot delete file: Cannot read from source file or disk

I can delete the files one at a time. I have about 200
files and picking and deleting one at a time is irratating

Hi Cadguy,

I run into that a lot when I'm trying to delete a whole batch of files that
the system creates, such as .bak and .tmp. What has worked for me is sorting
by date and then batch-deleting all of the files created before the current
date - that usually works fine, then I delete any files with the current
date one by one, and that's how I figure out which file (or files) can't be
deleted at this time...leave that one, get rid of the rest.
