cannot delete Outlook emails

My outlook express 6 has suddenly refused to let me delete any emails.
Nothing happens when I press the delete button or try to delete by right
clicking and choosing delete. When I try to drag the email to the delete
folder, I get a window that says " Cannot delete. There is an error".

I can't find any setting that would address this problem. Any thoughts?

This newsgroup is for Outlook questions, not Outlook Express, which is a
completely different program. Go ask in
