Cannot delete message in Outbox

I have a message stuck in my outbox that I cannot
delete. I have followed the procedures outlined in the
knowledge base to no avail.

When I try to open the message, it says 'Can't open this
item. The MAPI Spooler has already begun transmitting
this message'

I cannot send or recieve anything, because the first
thing it does is try to send this stuck message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Place Outlook in off-line mode by File-> Work Offline. Then restart Outlook
and delete the message

I don't have 'work offline' in my file menu. I
searched 'work offline' in the Outlook Help and it said
to go into 'tools', 'services', 'microsoft exchange' and
disable it there, but I didn't have a 'microsoft
exchange' in there, so I put one in, disabled it, but I
still cannot open or delete this message.

Any other ideas?

I had a similar problem as well in the inbox for 2003. I couldn't delete
the header because it says I have to download it from the server but the
server didn't have it anymore!

I then went to Tools/send and receive/process all marked headers and the
headers finally disappeared from my Inbox.
