Cannot Delete Folder

Robert Willis

I am attempting to delete an empty folder named ACT! 2005. Whenever I
attempt to delete this folder I get the following message "ERROR Deleting
File or Folder --- Cannot delete File: Cannot Read from source File or Disc"

Does anyone have a clue on how to delete this folder? It is left over from a
uninstall of ACT! 2005.

Their are several things that you can try, reboot and try to delete it,or
rename it then try to delete it,or boot into safe mode and delete it.or add
something to the folder like a text doc. then delete it.
all of these have worked for me in the past and I'm sure there are other
things that you can try which I have not mentioned here.
Good luck!

Or log on as a adminstrator and try to delete it.
Sometimes a file needs administrative permissions to delete it.

I've had similar problems. Renaming, rebooting, admin logons like others
have suggested didn't work. Even safemode reboot didn't let me delete it.

However, if you get the command prompt to the parent directory you should be
able to use the rmdir command with the /s and /q switches on the offending
directory.
