Joe;
Try running Error Checking. Reboot. Try deleting the file(s) again.
-----------------------------
Scandisk is now Error-checking (chkdisk).
Open My Computer, double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop.
Right click your hard drive | Properties.
On the Tools tab, under Error-checking, click Check Now.
Under Check disk options, check both boxes.
You have to reboot for Error-checking to run.

For a peek at the log.
Start | Run | Type: eventvwr | OK
Look in Application | Listed as Information
under Winlogon, Event 1001
EVENT_AUTOCHK_DATA

Joe,

If you have another admin account/profile that you can log into, then
log into that account. While in that other admin account open windows
explorer and scroll to your problem profile directory and access it's
temporary internet files directory. You will have to right click that
folder and open a command prompt at that directory. Type attrib -r -h -s
content.ie5 to expose it in explorer. Repeat for subfolders under
content.ie5 and then you will be able to delete the sucker residing in
the subfolders.
