I am running Outlook 2003 on Vista and somewhere along the linre thought it
was clever to have my "Personal Folders File" on another computer (non
laptop) on the (vsmall) system.
Now everytime Outlook opens it says it cannot find the file. I used to click
ok..ok. and go forward. Until I cannot backuo, archive, export or sync with
lackberry.
I have tried to create a new "Personal Folders File" throught "settings" but
I only get a 97...2002 .pst option.
If I try to create a new file via "properties for Personal Folders" Outlook
has a ecow and stops working.
I have tried repair from within and from CD.
I would like to save my 400 emails if I can before I remove and re-install
(which I have actually tried and didn't work. I know its me and not VISTA, so
can someone help?

Reinstalling Outlook won't delete any email just like reinstalling Word
won't delete any Word documents.
Care to elaborate on that? What were your results? Did you get an error?
Which one?

Tried recreating your mail profile already? I think you somehow corrupted
your mail profile while moving around pst-files. See;

That worked however it still "looked" for the original file that I moved
(whch is a (97-2002) pst file. So I tried to create a new data file for the
new mail profile.
Outlook just stopped working and closed. Is there a bottom line here? Cannot
even archive and remove/re-install.

Just wasted my time, said there were 3 errors (when I tried Repair) but no change to problem.
