Cannot create "Exchange Server Client" email account in Outlook

Jack

When I try to create "Exchange server" email account, I entered Exchange
Server address, user name, and when clicking on "check name" button, a
message displayed:

"The action could not be completed. The connection to the Microsoft
Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to
complete this action."

Switching to a different user on the same computer has the same problem.
I've checked tcp/ip settings, dns, etc. are all correct. I'm able to ping
exchange server by name or by ip address. I was able to create the exchange
server mail account on the other 6 computers without problems.

All clients are running XP Pro with win2k domain controller and Exchange
server 2003. Please help!

Jack,

I am having this issue with Exchange Server 5.5 and Outlook 2003 clients on XP Pro. What is your environment?

BW, we have Exchange Server 2003, Outlook 2003, WinXP Pro client, Win2k
domain controller with AD integrated DNS. All XP point to the AD DNS. Only
one out of seven computers has this problem. Have you figured out the
solution or anyone else can point me the direction to look after?
