cannot copy <filename>: access denied

I have a W2K Pro box running Veritas Backup Exec and Omni Rush. There is
a directory structure that will not allow access to the files already
existing in it. However I can access files outside this structure and
can create new files and access them. But still cannot access the
existing files. These files cannot be copied or moved either, returning
the same basic error msg...

Any suggestions would be helpful, Thank You...

Take ownership and give yourself permissions.
