cannot connect to internet or retrieve e-mail

please help at first i kept getting prompts telling me there wasa problem
and msn had to shut down. That was on Thursday night. On Friday 7/30/04 i
treid to get my e-mail and i could not get same or log on to the internet.
 
Is your problem:
1. Cannot make connection to your ISP?
or
2. Cannot open up browser [Internet Explorer or Netscape]?
or
3. Cannot open up email application?
or
4. Cannot get email to send or receive?


Also how do you acces the internet:
1. Cable?
or
2. DSL? I so do you use Windows to manage connection [PPPoE], username / password or a third party application form your ISP?
or
3. Dial up modem? I so do you use Windows to manage connection [PPPoE], username / password or a third party application form your ISP?


The answers will assist identify your problems.
