Cannot Complete Vista Installation

I built a new a computer a couple days ago and i've been trying to install
Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit with no success. Everytime i try, it
completes the "installing updates" part, restarts the computer, returns to
"Completing Installation" but then abruptly reboots. During the reboot I get
the "Windows did not shut down properly message" and have to select Start
Windows Normally. When Windows starts, it gives me the following message:

'Install Windows

"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error.
Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to
restart the computer and then restart the installation."'

I read another thread from late March that dealt with this problem, but none
of these suggestions have helped. There is no BIOS update for my mobo, and I
tried to install Vista using a IDE drive instead of my two SATA drives.

ASUS M2N-Plus SLI Vista Edition Mobo
AMD Athlon 64/XP/FX 5200+
2x 500 GB Western Digital 3 gb/s SATA HDD
2 GB DDR2-800 OCZ memory w/ heat spreaders
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
MSI nVidia 8800 GTS 320 MB overclocked VGA
PLextor 18x DVD-R/RW, CD-R/RW
Antec Nine Hundred Case

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED! PLEASE!

I'd try again without the overclocking
