Hi.

I tried installing a wireless internet USB adaptor
yesterday, however after that I could not change my
Internet connection settings.

I tried connecting my PC to a LAN connection. When I go
through controlpanel->internet connections->connections-
LAN settings, and try to change my LAN settings for
automatic configuration script and automatic detection of
settings (i.e. I am trying to disable them), and click OK
I get the following error.

An eception occured while trying to run "shell32.dll,
Control_RunDLL C:\windows\system32\inetcpl.cpl"

If however I try to change the internet LAN connections
through opening Internet explorer->Tools->Options-
Connections->LAN settings, the system either hangs or
gives me this error: Run a DLL as an App error.

I have installed IE6, not the updates as i cannot log on
to the net to do so, and cannot perform windows update to
get the neccesary fixes. My OS is XP Pro. I had Norton
Antivirus 2002 installed earlier, but then i uninstalled
it and tried installing IE6 again to sort out the problem.
I even upgraded from Xp Home to XP Pro for solving the
problem without any luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
