cannot browse web on client pc

we have windows 2000 pro and windows xp pro clients on our domain network
and can't access web via ie6 but still, they can send/receive emails through
Outlook/Outlook Express.

Clients are configured to request ip address from DHCP server including the
gateway.

but what seems to be the problem why client computers can't browse the
internet?
