Cannot Browse to HTTPS sites

Hi all:

I cannot browse to https sites with ie6 but can browse to http sites
fine. The only thing that changed on this machine was that a lot of
windows updates were installed right before machine stopped functioning
properly.

I've tried numerous fixes that have been posted on this site to no
avail. I even put the sites in the trusted zone and it still did not
work. Deleted cookies, temp internet files, clear forms and passwords
from autocomplete, cleared ssl slate, restarted crypto services,
registered appropriate dlls, etc. Nothing seems to work.

Any idea on what's causing my problem.

I've also tried to install Mozilla but it won't let me get to any (http
or https) sites.

Thank you.

Hi,
A few steps to try:
Disable, as a test, third-party security, privacy, ad-blocking programs. One
of them may be causing this. Since Mozilla is also affected, this seems like
a good possibility..

Turn on the windows Firewall (Control Panel> Windows Firewall) and disable
(as a test) your third-party firewall.

Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone, try resetting to Default.
