Hiya,

Hope someone can help !!

The machine rebooted by accident (my fault I caught the reset button
with my toe)

it started loading ok got to the windows Xp Pro screen THEN it
restarted - everything I do still it reboots. Safe mode freezes, last
known etc reboots,

so i disabled the auto restart and got the blue screen :( with the
following:-

A prblem has been detected...........................you all know the
rest

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

***STOP: 0X0000000A (0XF7b)b354, 0X000000FF, 0X00000001, 0X04E34DD)

I have done the repair as per all the threads (thanks ladies &
gentleman you are all brilliant) but still nothing.

The big issue is that this is my pc at work so i cannot just do a
complete reinstall as there is data on it that has not been backed up.

Oh the people who do our IT stuff can't come until tomorrow -

I have faith in you lot

yours desperately

Your best bet is to leave the machine as it is until your IT staff
come to your rescue. If you experiment any further then you
risk losing the lot. Permanently.

The next step is to review your policy re file location. Presumably
you have a server. If so then ***all*** important files, no exceptions,
must be stored on the server where they are automatically backed
up. If you were an employee of one of my clients then you would get
your legs chopped off right below your knees, as a stern warning
to everyone else.

That error message, if you do some research on it in Google and at the MS
site, can be do to many things: hardware, drivers, software. Since this is
a work PC and you have an IT department why are you trying to mess with
this. Better left to them. You haven't been messing with it in a way you
shouldn't or have data on there you shouldn't?
