cannot adjust screen resolution

Reinstalled Windows XP OS to correct some problems. Still
cannot adjust screen resolution. Only one setting set at
default, no slider action, no other options.

Most likely using a default or the wrong video driver for your adapter card.

Maybe you're using the generic video driver instead of one designed
specifically for your card.

Have you re-installed the WinXP-specific video drivers that were
supplied by the video adapter's manufacturer?
