Hi All,

I am new to Windows 2003 and hope someone can help me.

I have joined a server to a Windows 2003 domain. Let's call it Server A. I
have shared one of the folders and have set the share permission to
Everyone - Read and Change. I tried to add domain users to the Security Tab.
However, when I tried to add, the From This Location option, it always shows
the local server, System A but not the domain server.

When I enter the object names like domain\user, it says it is invalid. This
is very different when we are using Windows 2000 domain.

Can anyone care to enligthen me how to I add a domain user to the security
tab?

Thank you.

To add on, even the folder is shared, I cannot copy any files in even though
I have set Everyone to Read and Change.

Verify that the server is correctly joined to the domain and resolving that
dns name properly. When you logon are you seeing an option to logon to
either the local machine or the domain in the dropdown? Are we able to ping
the fqdn successfully and get a reply? Are we able to "view" this share
from others with "net view" even though you might not be able to connect to
it.
thanks
