Cannot Access Word 97

I have a Compaq computer with Windows XP and Word 97.

Suddenly, when I click on existing Word documents, they
will not open, although the icon on the bottom of my
screen indicates that I am in Word.

Sometimes when I click on a document, it will say "Do you
want to revert to saved document?" But when I click yes,
still nothing happens.

Also, when I am in Outlook and want to attach an existing
Word file, nothing happens.

Any suggestions?

Easy thing to try is to Uninstall Word97 restart and reinstall.
