Cannot access or change local shared folder

Hi,

my problem is that I am unable to change (delete or even move) any files
that I have stored in my Shared folder on my laptop. I donot have any home
network. The folder is a locally shared folder between different users on the
laptop. No users have ever accessed the folder but me. So there are no
passwords to the folder. Sometimes, I try to access the folder it says that I
donot have administrator rights. But i am the admin!! If i do get in the
folder, which is rarely by luck, I cannot change any files or delete them.

I tried installing new software on my laptop (adobe acrobat) and it gives an
error saying that the software cannot access the Shared folder as I donot
have admin rights. I've tried a few things but none are working. Need help!!

I would check the ownership first. this case study may help,

How to restrict administrators to access HR data To restrict any users including administrators to access the HR data, you may want to take the administrator's ownership from Human Resources shared folders ...

It would help if you told us what things you've already tried, so we
don't duplicate them.

This Microsoft Knowledge Base article should help:
