Cannot access Mapped Drives

We have a small 3 system work grouped network. We just reinstalled W2K on one of the systems. We are able to map to all drives and printers shared on the W2K machine from a Win 98 machine. However, when we try to access the shares or printers we are prompted to enter a security password. No security was ever setup so we are stumped as to why we are being asked for a password. We have remapped the drives and this did not help. We also re-added the printer which did not help. We can print test pages successfully from the Win 98 system. Any suggestions how we can stop being asked for a password. Also, the systems are link through a Linksys router.

make sure user accounts are duplicated on all pc's. this is the problem with
workgroups. there is no central database to store user info. you could also
turn on the guest account which will provide anonymous access.

.....enabling guest is not a great idea from a security standpoint - that
Linksys had better be a real firewall, not just a router!
