cannot access email after installing XP service pack 1

On Friday afternoon, I successfully installed the XP
Service pack 1 and since then, I cannot access any of my
email (hotmail account or account on Outlook). Anyone
have any ideas on how to fix this????

can you access the internet? if not, can you ping a public ip like 4.2.2.1?
what do you get if using nslookup command?
