Hi All...

It seems I can no longer access the right mouse display properties on the
desk top. Right mouse gioves the popup menu, but selecting properties does
nothing. I tried going into control panel display and it too does nothing
when I attempt to open it. How can I get this back?

I have tried making the account an admin, and also creating a new account
but even on a new admin account, this problem is still happening. Oddly
enough obe account on this PC my admin account, it stoll works.

Any ideas on how to restore this dispa=lay properties for those accounts it
fails on?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Try this:
Click Start, click Run, type desk.cpl and then click OK
Does this work?

you could try running these DLLs

from start, click run

in the run dialogie box type

REGSVR32 /i SHELL32.DLL

press return - you should see a message indicating that the command ran
successfully - repeat sequence for below command and restart windows

REGSVR32 /i BROWSEUI.DLL

HI Nanny...

I ran the first one, and it succeeded to execute. iIt did NOThelp though.
I then tried the second one and it failed with message:
"DllRegisterServer in BROWSEUI.DLL failed.
Return code was: 0x8002801c

So still no progress. If this DLL is messed up, can I retrieve it from
somewhere?
As I mentioned, one account on this PC still works (or it did up to now)?

Thanks for your help so far.
