Hi Teri

If you have your Windows XP disks you can insert the
disk, reboot and perform a repair. If you want to open
Control Panle to see if it is there you can click on
Start - Run and type in Control Panel, hit enter and it
should open.

We received the w32.beagle and a trojan virus and were
able to remove them from the computer but we still don't
have access to several Windows XP functions such as My
Computer and Control Panel, etc. What can I do now? We
used some tools from the Norton Antivirus website to get
rid of the virus and ran a full system scan that did not
find anything else.

We found the original diskettes for XP but unfortunately cannot locate
the certificate of authenticity number and it won't let us reinstall
without it. Is it somehow located on my computer somewhere that I can
access it. I bought the computer preloaded with XP from Dell about 2
years ago.

Look for a sticker on the case. If still no luck, see:
