cannot access certain websites

I am running windows xp on a dell computer. I am having
trouble accessing some websites. I have had several comp
techs working on this to no avail. I have done all of my
updates, ran virus software, ran sbybot, nothing helps. 1
out of the 20 times I try to access these sites I can get
to them. It is so weird because I have been able to
access them and then come back to my desk an hour later
and can't get to them. From watching my tool bar I can
see it is moving correctly and it even looks like it is
going there because it will say DONE for a very brief
moment and then BOOM here's google saying URL cannot be
found. Some of these sites include:
princessfoundation.org
severnsvalley.org
webguysonline.com
focus.org
christianitytoday.com
I am at my wits end with this and I do not know what to
do! I can see that others are having this same or similar
problems there has to be a fix.
Help!

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

If you did not create the file, then you may have parasites, or you are
using a web accelerator program that would be causing this problem.

Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

Reduce your Security settings.

Remove the current cookies associated with these sites.

Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.
