I have tried all the steps advised by the troubleshooter on the above
printer and I cannot get it to even so much as twitch. Totally unresponsive
except when I unplug the electrical cord and plug it in again. I have
uninstalled are reinstalled it several times. When I try to get it to use
the drivers that it came with it just ignores the drivers and tells me to
make sure its plugged in and a variety of very basic things....it didn't
cost much so there is no point in having it repaired. Before I throw it in
the trash (its only two years old) is there any ideas anyone has. Their
support is non existant but what can you expect for 60 dollars I guess. I
just was hoping someone has had a similar experience and could enlighten me.

Try uninstalling all canon software, then try search, type canon and/or the
product name (BJ2100)etc,and delete all. Then shutoff computer, install canon
into diffrent jack (usb),restart computer. You need to get "found new
hardware"
installation wizard, then install canon cd as it asks, here's the
trick,before the
wizard stops, you should get the canon installation menu,if not go to my
computer,
R.click the cdrom, locate "auto run" or the .exe for canon software
installation,
install software and drivers. The alternative, install printer with printer
cable,then
add printer in printers control-panel,once installed, visit canon web for
patches,
specially with XP SP2.Canon really is a looser with printers.
