Can you pin a new submenu to the Vista (or XP) start menu?

This applies to XP as well as Vista, the solution (if there is one) may
also work for both, that's why I decided to crosspost instead of posting a
separate question for each OS.

I took some screenshots to explain clearer what I'm looking for,

For those who prefer text:

Has someone found a way to add new top-level menus to the start menu, the
way you could in Win2000, and still can in XP and Vista if you switch to
the "classic" start menu?

Use google, type in 'pin folder to start menu'.
It really does work (google that is).

I tried the first and it seems to work but its only a link to open the
folder, it does not produce the drop down list like you indicate.
Hang in, others will respond possible, but in the mean time, maybe a
find on google will help you.

Hi Luc,

This tutorial will show you how you can enable the option to Pin
folders to the Start Menu like programs.

Thanks, but I already found that.

Pinning a folder to the start menu does just what it says: it pins a
shortcut to a folder to the start menu, it doesn't create a new submenu
(unless you use the classic start menu).

I'd like it to behave as if you're using the classic start menu, but in the
new style start menu.

Yeah it's called toolbars. I use just the one, 'desktop', but it has the
customize 'create a new one. Only difference it'd be to your right vs on the
start menu button.
or you could use the 'quick launch' toolbar.
