Pinning to the Start Menu

How does one Pin a document to the Start Menu? For Instance:
wordpad.exe c:\mydocument.txt.
I can create the shortcut on the desktop and select Pin to Start Menu
but when I delete it from the desktop Vista can't find it, obviously,
because I deleted from the desktop.

Any help will be appreciated.

Open Windows Explorer, go to the directory with the file, right-click the
file, drag it onto the Start Button, when the menu opens, drag up to where
you want it, and release.

You can't pin a document to the start menu, BUT! you can drag it to the
start menu and create a link to it.

Just open the folder where the original file is kept, drag the file out
of the folder and hover it over the start button(orb) until the start
menu opens then just drop it in place. (remember do drop the file
until it is in the start menu)
