Can you enforce Desktop file constraints?

We are trying to be proactive in our approach to profile sizes without
enforcing profile sizes.

To do this I am wondering if you can you stop users from copying certain
file types to the desktop?

And is there a group policy to enforce this?

ie Cannot copy .exe .doc .ppt etc?

I thought that you might have more incentive to "scout down the list" than I
do. ;-)

For sure - I was looking for answers and that was a good place to start.

Unfortunately, I have found that it is not possible to restrict certain file
types from being copied to the desktop.

The only way to restrict the size of profiles is via the 'profile size'
policy which is what we were trying to avoid.

My request cannnot be done.
